Sentiero Del Cacciatore (Hunter's Path)
Description
Easy via ferrata, but long and only partially protected in a very isolated area; reopened after being closed due to a landslide. Sure footing is necessary on terrain that is not always stable.
Access & starting point
Via the Val di Fiemme and Passo Rolle to Fiera di Primiero, then turn into Val Canali and continue past Cant del Gal, to park near Albergo La Ritonda.
Approach
Take path no. 709 to Rifugio Pradidali, and at approx. 1600 m turn left heading north or from Sass Maor (path no. 742). A new, slightly higher access trail is now available. After passing through dwarf pines and a scree slope, you arrive at the start.
Route
Relatively strenuous and long uphill, ending near the fork with the Buzzati Ferrata and the summit of Cima della Stanga. The "Hunter's Path" is a good alternative descent from the Buzzati Ferrata or an ascent to Rifugio Velo.
Technical Details
Relatively easy climb, but not to be underestimated. Terrain partly grassy, often wet and steep, feasible only in stable and dry weather!
Descent
it's recommended to descend via the Buzzati Ferrata (follow the Buzzati–Hunter tour clockwise), or plan the descent by crossing to Rifugio Velo and returning to the starting point via the Camillo Depaoli trail (approx. 3 hours).
