This is a short and relatively easy route. Only a brief section of the climb is secured with a steel cable. The rest of the ascent is along a trail that is easy to walk, though it is somewhat exposed and therefore requires secure footing. The route is easily accessible and suitable for beginners. The descent follows the same path as the ascent.
From Passo Falzarego, drive toward Cortina until reaching the Cinque Torri chairlift (there is a sign on the road). Take the lift up to Rifugio Scoiattoli (2225 m, top station of the lift).
From there, hike up the wide trail no. 439 to Forcella Nuvolau (Rifugio Averau, 2413 m).
Directly behind the hut, follow the clearly marked path ("Via Ferrata Averau") that leads to the start of the ferrata.
