Via Ferrata Dino Buzzati
Description
Very varied climb with medium technical difficulty on the southern slopes of the Pale di San Martino. Do not underestimate the route length.
Access & starting point
From the south via Feltre or from the north via Passo Rolle to Fiera di Primiero. Continue toward Passo Cereda, turn into Val Canali. At Albergo-Ristorante La Ritonda, cross the bridge and drive up the paved road to Prati Fosne. Park near a shrine.
Approach
Follow trail no. 747. Steep final section through forest and scree to approx. 2130 m.
Route
The ferrata alternates between steep climbing sections, a few short passages, and one longer hiking section. From Forcella west of Cimerlo, descend northward through further equipped sections and continue toward the junction with the Cacciatore trail below Cima della Stanga.
Technical Details
Recently fully renovated. South-facing exposure can make it very hot, especially during the steep approach. Aside from a few steep sections, no major technical difficulty.
Descent
Return to Prati Fosne via the Cacciatore trail and trail no. 719.
