Short ferrata of medium difficulty with a long approach. High-altitude area certainly not crowded.
From the south via Feltre or from the north via Passo Rolle to Fiera di Primiero. Continue towards Passo Cereda, turn into Val Canali. From the Albergo-Ristorante La Ritonda, follow the road towards Malga Canali and park before the no-entry sign.
Proceed first along the flat forest road and then along the ferrata trail to Rifugio Treviso–Canali. Continue on trail no. 707 to the junction with the ferrata (signposted).
After a relatively long approach, a short ferrata follows (approx. 200 m elevation gain), ending at Forcella Marmol, just above it, at Bivacco R. Reali. The route can be significantly extended both in duration and difficulty by adding the ascent to Croda Granda (2849 m) and/or alternatively descending via the Sentiero Vani Alti.
Technically not particularly difficult. Consider the physical effort and the isolated position. The section beyond the bivouac up to the Croda Granda summit is reserved for expert climbers.
It is recommended to descend from Bivacco R. Reali via the same ferrata. This is the shortest and safest variant. The ascent to Croda Granda and especially the optional descent via the Sentiero Vani Alti requires unprotected climbing up to upper grade I and should only be tackled by experienced climbers.
