A short ferrata, fully equipped with steel cables, with two very steep and exposed climbs on ladders, and an airy, difficult exit from the second ladder.
Reach Corvara via Val Gardena by crossing Passo Gardena or arriving from Val Pusteria and through Val Badia. Take the Boè cable car from Crep de Mont and continue with the Vallon chairlift to Rifugio Franz Kostner al Vallon, 2537 m.
From the top chairlift station (sign for ferrata is visible), descend briefly and at the junction take a left (signposted) to the start at 2560 m.
A relatively short hike with ascent and descent that are not always easy. The ferrata is quite varied and at times very steep. After exiting at 2750 m, follow the trail marked with red dots to reach the summit via flat scree terrain.
The upper part has a steep and demanding passage with two ladders on the exposed wall. The exit from the second is very airy and requires strength. Steel cables may not always be in good condition (protruding wire = risk of hand injuries). The southern exposure allows this route to be done in early summer (after winter snows and plateau melt) or in late autumn—only in good weather.
From the summit of Piz da Lech de Boè, 2910 m, descend along the Normal Route (marked in red). The final short rock step is secured with metal ropes and iron rungs. 1½ hours.
