Description

One might think such a short route isn't worth mentioning, especially given the long approach. But if you're already nearby, you should definitely climb this scenic tower! Below the summit, with rare views over Livinallongo, Col di Lana, and surrounding Dolomites, there's a small unmanned bivouac (Pian delle Stelle). The ascent is steep, well-equipped, and where needed, supported with rungs. A beautiful entry into this lesser-known corner of the Dolomites and worth doing in all cases.

Access & starting point

From Passo Falzarego or Arabba, past Dìgionera to Val and into Ronc (1508 m). There are parking spaces.

Approach

In the upper part of the car park, near the last house, a sign points left to Sass da Rocia. Climb through the woods to a large clearing beneath a rock face where the ferrata starts (signed).

Technical Details

Descent

Descend along the ferrata. At the base of the chimney, near the Madonna statue, turn left (descent variant) and descend via steel cables and rungs. Turn right through the woods, past the ferrata start, and return to Ronc following the ascent trail.
