Some steep, exposed, and difficult sections, especially the key crux point just above the start, require strong arm strength. Beautiful climbing with some exposure at the exit. Solid mountain experience and good technique for long reaches and unprotected moves are essential.
From Val Badia via Passo Valparola (2192 m), or from Cortina via Passo Falzarego (2105 m). Large carpark at the bottom station of the Lagazuoi cable car. Ascent via cable car to the top station (2752 m).
From the top station, descend to the Forcella Lagazuoi (2563 m), then turn left along trail no. 20 (signposted Ferrata Tomaselli) until the next fork. From there, follow trail no. 20b (Ferrata Tomaselli) to the Bivacco della Chiesa, located near the ferrata start.
The ferrata itself is not so long, but has a relatively long approach and descent. Starting directly from Passo Falzarego adds just over an hour. Short unprotected trail sections require a sure foot. The route is very steep, on solid rock. While there are holds and foot placements to aid in climbing, solid climbing technique is still needed. In particular, the descent on the eastern side is well protected, but steep and not to be underestimated!

The ferrata is partially very steep, protected with new, thick steel cables and short distances between anchor points. The descent from Selletta Fanis is well secured but includes steep sections that should not be underestimated.
From the summit, descend the eastern face (ferrata) to Selletta Fanis and continue south along a faint trail and path to Forcella Travenanzes. From there, follow trail no. 402 (waymarked) back down to the cable car's lower station.
