A long and very popular ascent, although not particularly recommended because the via Ferrata isn't particularly interesting (just a few bits in places) and there's a lot of scree scrambling both up and down.
A steep ladder at the very beginning but the rest of the route is fairly easy and only minimally exposed.
Drive through Val Pusteria toward Sesto-Moso. At the southern edge of the village, turn right (signposted) and continue to Bagni di Moso, then follow the road to the Prati di Croda Rossa cable car car park. Access to the upper station is by cable car.
From the upper station (1914 m), take trail no. 100 across the Prati di Croda Rossa and up to the Coston di Croda Rossa. Follow signs for "Ferrata Croda Rossa" to the start at 2300 m, where a 40 m long iron ladder marks the beginning.
The route follows red triangle markers and many old World War I military paths. All exposed rock steps are well protected with steel cables or ladders.

An easy ferrata, with only a few exposed sections and a long ladder at the start. The rest is secured as needed. Thunderstorms or even early autumn cold snaps can create winter-like conditions on the route!
From the summit, descend to the scree basin below the Wurzbach summit (just before the ladder). Instead of continuing toward Coston di Croda Rossa, turn right (signs), pass through a narrow gap, and follow trail no. 15B (Castelliere/Burgstall) back to the starting point.
Note that the last cable car down is at 17:30pm.
