As the name suggests, this is not a true ferrata but more of a mountaineering path where some sections are not secured. Prerequisites for this route are sure-footedness and experience.
Via Valsugana to Feltre; from there, continue towards Belluno; turn towards Agordo and follow the signs for Bolzano Bellunese. From Bolzano Bellunese to the hamlet of Case Bortot; park at the barrier and take trail 501, which is initially flat.
Via the Piero Rossi Ferrata (ex-Ferrata del Marmol) to Forcella Marmol (2262 m), from there it is a short distance to the start.
The M. Guardiano trail offers the opportunity to climb the entire Schiara group in combination with other ferratas of the same group. The main difficulties are encountered immediately after the saddle. A long traverse follows, partially equipped, along the ridge to the summit of Schiara.
An aesthetically interesting ascent to the Schiara group, advisable only in dry conditions. The long traverse on unstable debris terrain towards the summit requires a lot of focus and physical fitness.
Steep descent from the summit. Descend along trail 511 to Forcella Pis Pilon. From there, return to the refuge along trail 505 (approx. 2½ hours).
