The difficulty of the Sperti Ferrata lies mainly in its overall length. Both the elevation gain to overcome and the sections of hiking and climbing are significant. Moreover, the area is isolated and not crowded. It is essential to plan the tour carefully.
The Zacchi Ferrata is the steepest ascent to Schiara and climbs the south face just below the summit. The sections are steep but well-equipped along the entire route, requiring solid technical climbing skills.
The Piero Rossi Ferrata is the easiest ascent to Schiara. It is often chosen as a descent ferrata after the Berti Ferrata. Technically difficult only in a few short sections. The main challenge is the overall length.
The Berti Ferrata is the variant for ascending to the Schiara summit after necessarily having done the Sperti or Zacchi Ferrata. It is thus the crowning section, provided the physical condition and weather are favourable.
As the name suggests, this is not a true ferrata but more of a mountaineering path where some sections are not secured. Prerequisites for this route are sure-footedness and experience.
