This easy via ferrata, which has a lot of walking terrain between the secured sections is one of the most beautiful high-altitude trails in the Dolomites. The trail runs from south to north across the wild Cadini di Misurina range, with some short uphill sections. Despite being close to the very touristy Tre Cime area, this trail is not overly crowded.
From Val Pusteria, head toward Dobbiaco, turn into Val di Landro (direction Cortina), and proceed to Carbonin. From here, turn left toward Misurina and reach the valley station of the Col de Varda chairlift. Alternatively, from Cortina, go over Passo Tre Croci toward Misurina. From mid-June to September, you can take the chairlift from Rifugio Col de Varda (2,115 m) or hike from Misurina along trail no. 120.
The entire "Sentiero Bonacossa" is marked as trail no. 117. From the hut, follow a sandy channel up to Forcella Misurina (2,380 m). Steel cables and iron rungs support the final ascent.
This is a relatively long trail, crossing a mountainous area of great scenic beauty with only a few mild technical challenges. The first part of the route is easier and reaches Rifugio Fonda Savio, where you can stop or potentially descend if needed. The Sentiero Bonacossa, continuing along the steep ridge past the hut, becomes more demanding in its second half.
From the Forcella de Rinbianco, the path winds along an old exposed military trail that crosses Cima Ciadin de Rinbianco on its southern side and leads to the more demanding traverse section.
The trail then reaches Forcella Longeres (2,288 m), offering stunning views of the southern walls of the Tre Cime. From there, you can either continue toward Rifugio Auronzo or descend to the road that leads to Tre Cime via a path to the left.

A simple route, with only a few short sections equipped with steel cables and ladders for the steeper parts. It runs across terrain that is generally easy walking.
From Rifugio Auronzo (2,320 m), you can take a public bus to Misurina; otherwise, descend along trail no. 101 to the Tre Cime road near the toll station. You'll pass Lago Antorno and a campsite heading toward Misurina. A scenic walk along the eastern shore of Lake Misurina leads back to the valley station of the chairlift (this detour adds about 1.5 hours).
