The Sentiero degli Alpini traverses the western flank of Cima Undici without major elevation changes, following natural ledges. This ascent is more of a demanding hike on old war paths than a technical climb. However, walking along these narrow ledges, well protected by steel cables, is still an exposed and airy experience. The most technical part is between Forcella Undici and Passo della Sentinella.
From the parking area (1450 m) in Val Fiscalina, pass Rifugio Fondo Valle towards Rifugio Zsigmondy (2224 m) and follow the trail toward Forcella Giralba.
At a junction before the saddle, take trail no. 101 toward “Busa di Dentro”, pass the turnoff for Monte Popera, and continue until the “Cengia della Salvezza” (start of the Sentiero degli Alpini).
Descent: From Forcella Undici, descend to Anderter Alms, and continue along trail no. 122 back to the starting point.
From Rifugio Carducci, follow the trail toward Passo Giralba (2297 m). Descend briefly on the north side, then turn right to reach trail no. 101 from Rifugio Zsigmondy. Follow this downhill (past the turnoff for Monte Popera) to reach the "Cengia della Salvezza" — the start of Sentiero degli Alpini.
The first part of the route is technically easy, with occasional very exposed sections that are protected by steel cables. In the "Busa di Fuori" section, snow patches are often present — beware during the traverse. The second part (from Forcella Undici to Passo della Sentinella) is technically more difficult, especially early in the summer when snow-filled gullies may require serious crossings.

From the Forcella, descend rapidly through the glacial cirque to the east in Vallon Popera, then follow the marked path to Rifugio Berti and finally return to the starting point: Rifugio Lunelli.
